# Exploring Parameters ## Subject Exploring what each of the categories would involve, who the areas serve, what their purposes are. https://www.deere.com/en/ https://www.cat.com/en_US.html https://smithdesign.com/ https://www.workshopbranding.com/work I was interested in understanding the design language used in these industries to set a standard for myself on what I would subvert. ## Instant Mostly focused on what “instant” is, traditionally. Currently heavily focused on convenience, budget. Should this be something to conform to or subvert? Is convenience a premium? ## Wit [How wit and humour make for strong graphic design ideas](https://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/the-graphic-design-ideas-book-wit-and-humour-060416) [Different Kinds of Wit](https://studyingdesign.wordpress.com/2009/04/14/different-types-of-wit/) In addition, I looked through examples of what witty design is. https://eyeondesign.aiga.org/ (just looking through, the eye is also witty) Absolut Book by Richard W. Lewis # Practical Research Initially, my focus was on cost, weight, utility of this innovation. Apparently this project additionally has a product design aspect in which I need to come up with a product and *then* apply a style language to it. My process was mostly focused on combining two ideas: Content and Instant, and seeing how Wit could be applied on top of that. # What I’m looking at next ![[research-1744639918697.webp]] https://eyeondesign.aiga.org/the-80s-are-back-baby/ 80s design seems like it has the potential to be quite interesting.
